The Suvarnbhumi Airport -Bangkok

Do these pictures look familiar ? . These are pictures taken from the departure terminal of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport Bangkok . For my international readers , these pictures depict the mythological tug-of war (Samudra Manthan-or the Great Churn ) between the Devas (gods) and the Asura's (demon's) . It was really heartening to see Thailand take great pains to protect their Hindu roots where a Hindu majority country like India has forgotten its culture ???

Yes, especially given the fact that both Bombay and Delhi international airports are worse than any civil war torn African airport

I agree! Also, why don't we invest in aesthetics in our airports given that it’s the first glimpse of our country for travelers? The new and 'improved' Bangalore airport is a monstrosity that would put civilization to shame (I would have forgiven them if atleast it was efficient!)...and now they plan to shift it to another location 30 kms away from the city...ok my angst aside..nice posts!

NR: World over religion is taking a beating. Feel it will see its natural death soon (hv written a lot abt this in my blog). I appreciate India for being neutral and hope Thailand and other SE asian nations would also fall in line in future. May be if you visit the same airport in 2020, you will see something else in that place.

BTW, thanks for that free virtual tour for me. I could see from the pics, the kind of archi and taste of this country. Need to appreciate King Rama clan for taking pains to preserve such a beautiful palace. Hey NR: Thailand is also famous for 'chicks' & Pattaya. Hope you will release those pics in the next lot.
